The bank specifies a circular area. The operator network estimates the area where the phone is located and reports how much the two areas overlap.
The area estimated by the operator falls entirely within the bank's circle.
The two areas overlap partially, with a match rate of 74%.
The two areas do not overlap.
BMatch rate = the overlapping area as a share of the operator's estimated area. A higher rate means the phone is more likely to be within the specified area.
Three responsesAll include the time the location was last updated.
Location Verification: How it works
- Specify areaThe service provider sends the phone number and a circular area: the center's latitude and longitude plus a radius.
- Network measurementThe operator estimates the area where the phone is located using the network it is connected to.
- Compare and respondCompares the two areas and returns a match, partial match, or no match. A partial match includes the match rate.
